Professor Harrison Weisinger to return to all Clinical Conferences
We are proud and excited to announce professor Harrison Weisinger will again be presenting at all locations of the Clinical Conference this year.
Professor Weisinger holds qualifications in optometry and medicine, and works regularly as a general practitioner in Geelong, Australia. He completed his Masters and PhD at the University of Melbourne in the fields of visual neurophysiology and visual development. He has published in several medical and scientific journals, like Nature Medicine, Science, PNAS and Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, and has been awarded Australian competitive grants and fellowships. He was Director of Professional Services and a Board Member of Specsavers Optometrists Asia-Pacific for 3 years.
In 2009, professor Weisinger started in the role of Foundation Director of Optometry and Chair in Optometry at Deakin University in Geelong, where he was responsible for designing a course to address the shortage of optometrists in regional and rural areas. He resigned in 2015, after the first cohort of students had completed its studies, and said he is immensely proud of what had been achieved and is grateful to the students.
Profession Weisinger returned to Specsavers as Global Professional Services Director in 2015. He still is a professor at Deakin University and also as Adjunct Professor at the University of Canberra.
